An experience called Unknown Mortal Orchestra

From the ashes of the crazy and unpredictable The Mint Chicks, came Ruban Nielson’s personal project Unknown Mortal Orchestra that has now become a consistently brilliant source of experimental pop, homemade psychedelia and charming lo-fi. All these virtues were present on their homonymous debut but it was their second album, tersely entitled “II”, that firmly established the New Zealand band as one of the most interesting and innovative projects of the new psychedelia.  Now, their recently released album “Multi-Love” puts them in the limelight with a record with hints of funk, contagious rhythms and exhilaration, that has put their name on everybody’s lips. Tonight at Sala Apolo.
