Divus Julius presents: Sam Fender

Featured in the BBC Music Sound of 2018 Sam Fender might just be one of the next big things. Uniting powerful lyrics and anecdotes on social issues and politics with a guitar-driven, indie-pop sound, he has been compared to names such as Jake Bugg or  Catfish & The Bottlemen.

The Geordie Springsteen’s debut excels at documenting small-town frustration, which is why he means so much to so many people. This album isn’t perfect, but he’s a welcome antidote to polite chaps with guitars.  The Borders is one of the best cuts from his debut album ‘Hypersonic Missiles’
