Hit of The Week: Sunni Colón “UNIVERSE 4 TWO”

American/Nigerian singer/songwriter Sunni Colón has just unveiled his latest single “UNIVERSE 4 TWO” off of his ten track third album JúJú & The Flowerbug. The genre-defying artist seamlessly blends soul, afrobeat, samba, pop and jazz for a unique and whimsical sonic concoction with “UNIVERSE 4 TWO” being no exception.

Divus Julius presents: Obongjayar

Obongjayar is the moniker of Nigerian-born, London-based artist Steven Umoh. With afrobeat, soul and hip-hop influences, Umoh has created a bold, genre-defiant musicality. His debut full-length, Some Nights I Dream of Doors represents an exploration of everything from familial expectation to self-seeking politicians; there’s a boldness and a confidence to every track.

Now, Obongjayar has shared a brand new single, ‘Tinko Tinko (Don’t Play Me For A Fool)’. The track is taken from debut album ‘Some Nights I Dream Of Doors, set for release on 13th May.

Introducing…Jungle by Night

The Dutch group Jungle by Night blends, in an exciting manner, the influences of krautrock, dance, jazz, afrobeat and pop. Known for their danceable, powerful, energetic and contagious live performances, this young group of nine musicians present Livingstone, their fifth album released by the prestigious Rush Hour Records, in which their afrobeat is close to synthesizers.
