Arctic Monkeys is back with new music. The long-standing English rock band has released its seventh studio album, The Car, via Domino Records. The forthcoming project will be the band’s first package of new music since the release of its 2018 album Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino.
Turner himself has also confirmed that the music of the upcoming album will feel familiar to those who have listened to Tranquility, the band’s turn into a jazzier, intergalactic-influenced sonic palette. Turner described the new music as “cinematic.
In support of the project, Alex Turner and Miles Kane have now shared the music video for their rendition of the 1980 Glaxo Babies cut “This is Your Life”. Directed by Focus Creeps, it’s an entertaining clip in which the well-dressed pair, backed by a full band, performs in front of a shimmering and prism-like foil backdrop. At one point Turner can be seen crawling across a catwalk while Kane manically mans the mic.
There were eight years between the debut from The Last Shadow Puppets,The Age of the Understand, and this past April’s Everything You’ve Come to Expect. But fans will have barely waited eight months before the British group drops their next effort, as they’ve today announced a December 2nd release for The Dream Synopsis EP.
Coming via Domino, the five-track effort features new versions of the title track and “Aviation”, both tunes from their sophomore LP. The rest of the songs are studio versions of covers the band has been performing on their 2016 tour. Included “Is This What You Wanted”by Leonard Cohen.

In fact, Turner’s so enamored he’s producing her whole debut album. The lush late-‘60s/early-’70s sound is the perfect backdrop for her upcoming debut album Strange Portrait,

Divus Julius Bonasera ha triat “Bad Habits” com atzucac d’aquesta setmana. La cançó significa l’esperat retorn de The Last Shadow Puppets, la banda formada per Miles Kane i el líder d’Arctic Monkeys,Alex Turner. Tornen vuit anys després del seu meravellós debut amb The Age Of The Understatement. De moment, “Bad Habits” sembla marca diferències amb aquell so vintage del primer disc i opta per endinsar-se en terrenys més foscos i tel·lúrics.
