Music by Bergman: The Good, The Bad & The Queen

The Good, The Bad & The Queen are a supergroup that need no introduction, made up of Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz), Paul Simonon (The Clash), Tony Allen (Fela Kuti), and Simon Tong (The Verve). This project first saw the light in 2007 in the form of a debut album The Observer called “one of the most surprising and magical albums Damon Albarn has been responsible for.” After eleven years of silence, this past November they released Merrie Land, their highly anticipated comeback and an album unquestionably influenced by the current political and social landscape. Straddling the line between melancholy and hope, this work is a reflection upon what it means to be British in our times, an era of indeterminacy as evidenced by Brexit and the international panorama.

El retorn d’Arcade Fire

Després de triomfar al Primavera Sound 2014, i aprofitant que seran a la Península per actuar al festival BBK Live, la banda canadenca torna a portar a Barcelona el repertori de ‘Reflektor’ (2013), el seu últim àlbum, en què, amb l’ajuda de James Murphy d’LCD Soundsystema la producció, s’apropiaven amb brillantor de la tradició musical d’Haití empeltada de música disco.

El retorn d’Arcade Fire a la ciutat es repartirà entre el Razzmatazz, on faran el concert, i La [2] de l’Apolo, on punxarà Win Butler, líder dels canadencs, amb l’àlies DJ Windows 98 el dissabte 2 de juliol.

Obrirà per a ells una altra canadenca, Little Scream (20.30 h), projecte de Laurel Sprengelmeyer. En el seu segon àlbum, ‘Cult following’ (2016), ha comptat amb col·laboracions de membres d’Arcade Fire, Sufjan Stevens, Sharon Van Etten, TV On The Radio i The National, entre d’altres.
