Distinctly British, and seemingly intent on pushing songwriting boundaries to their limits – Petrie is something of a prodigal talent. Writing, producing and performing on this debut single, his sound comes fully formed right from the word go.
There’s a definite off-kilter RnB/pop feel to it, a touch of Ben Khan-esque weird pop in its songwriting nuances, and slightly reminiscent of Everything Everything in his vocal execution, too. Throughout 2018, Petrie launched a string of tracks which captured their uniquely multi-textural pop flavour, all of which now can found through the open doors of the duo’s Superstore.
