Best Covers: Björk “It’s Oh So Quiet”

The soft/loud theatrics of this song make it perfectly suited to, and while Betty Hutton’s 1951 original goes big as well, the Icelandic singer goes even bigger. Shrieks and throaty growls complement the song’s brassy choruses, and “It’s Oh So Quiet” remains her highest-charting single to date.

The muses of La Musa: Björk

Björk often describes her music using visual cues. The Icelandic musician’s last album looked up to the heavens, filled with birdsong and airy flutes. Her new album, “Fossora,” peers deep down into the soil. The follow-up to 2017’s Utopia has the theme “mushroom life.”  She described the new project as “a pacifist, idealistic album with flutes and synths and birds.”
