PWNT, the LA-based dream-pop project of Kosta Galanopoulos, has shared his new single, “Days in the Summer”, which will serve as the title track for his upcoming debut album, out June 25, 2021, via Acrophase Records.
Borrowing his moniker from the Miles Davis quote, “play what’s not there”, PWNT fuses together the worlds of 60s psychedelia, 90s Britpop, and the sounds of 2010-era acts such as Passion Pit and MGMT on his latest single.
If you’re looking for a peak moment in the career of Oasis, those rough-and-tumble, rude-and-ready bastions of BritPop, “Wonderwall” is that moment. As a matter of fact, it’s probably the acme of that entire musical movement that included bands like Blur and Pulp and ruled the roost for a brief, heady time in the mid-’90s. The song, featured on the band’s nearly perfect second album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory, not only enthralled the hometown fans, reaching #2 in the U.K., but it also broke the band to the American pop audience, hitting #8 on the Billboard charts.
La banda de Birmingham liderada per Simon Fowler, nascuda a l’ombra de les bandes més populars del britpop porten editats deu àlbums d’estudi desde la seva formació. Aquest 2016 celebren el 20è aniversari de ‘Moseley Shoals’ (1996), i per això realitzaran una gira on l’interpreten al complet, repassant tots els hits del disc, com ‘The riverboat song’, ‘The day we caught the train’, ‘You’ve got it bad’ o ‘The circle’. El Festival Mil·leni els presenta avui a la sala Apolo.
