Since the release in early 2014 of his critically-lauded debut album, Sweet Disarray, Dan Croll has purposely proved impossible to pin down. A sonic explorer, he doesn’t so much sidestep genres as conquer several at the same time. Citing artists from The Beatles to De La Soul to James Taylor in his work.
Dan Croll has released his third album, Grand Plan and has unveiled his two newest singles, title track “Grand Plan” and “Work.” With a sound that leans into the Laurel Canyon’s 1960s and 1970s scene, which has always inspired Croll heavily.
London-based artist Tom Misch celebrates the upcoming release of his debut album Geography with the release of “It Runs Through Me.” In the track features the legendary hip-hop group De La Soul. The song possesses a lounge-inspired sound, with each member of De La Soul riding the beat bar for bar.

Where other artists tease with glimpses of their forthcoming albums, Gorillaz, the ever-shifting musical entity headed up by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, is flooding the zone, releasing four new songs from their forthcoming album, Humanz, which is due out April 28.
The complete album will consist of 14 tracks, 19 on the deluxe version, and will also be available as a “super deluxe vinyl box set” with each of the 14 tracks on a separate 12” slab, backed by an alternate version. A list of the album’s featured artists includes Vince Staples, Peven Everett, Popcaan, De La Soul, Danny Brown, Grace Jones, Mavis Staples, Pusha T, and Carly Simon, with actor Ben Mendelsohn narrating the album interludes.
Here’s the music, and note that the Hewlett-directed six-minute video “Saturnz Barz (Spirit House),” which contains clips from all four songs, is available in both regular and, via supported web browsers, 360-degree versions.
Since releasing 2014’s Nabuma Rubberband, Little Dragon’s output has been limited to collaborations with Flume and De La Soul. Now, however, they’re returned a new, original single called “High”.
Throwback synths welcome in the warm slice of alternative R&B, a track full of smooth, subtle low-end and snapping percussion. “High” is equal parts meditative and sensual.
In addition to the new music, Little Dragon have announced their first North American tour in two years. The dates kick off in mid-April around their appearance at Coachella.
