Music by Bergman: Toro y Moi

Toro y Moi started as the solo project of Chaz Bear, who took his solo musical endeavors to greater and greater heights of sophistication on a series of releases with the encouragement of his friend from school, Ernest Greene of Washed Out.  In the wake 2008’s global economic collapse, Toro y Moi emerged as a figurehead of the beloved sub-genre widely known as chillwave, the sparkling fumes of which still heavily influence musicians all over today.

Toro y Moi project will return this spring with the new album Mahal.

The muses of La Musa: Mitski

She made a name for herself with two self released in which she made it clear that she wanted to tear down all singer songwriter conventions, but it was the album “Bury Me At Makeout Creek”, her debut on Dead Oceans, that confirmed that this New York based Japanese artist was a sort of enigmatic cross between the Cocteau Twins and Courtney Barnett. With her new album “Puberty 2”, Mitski Miyawaki has done nothing more than underline her ability to alternate melancholic rock with outspoken ballads smouldering with intensity and has done more than enough to make a place for herself on the best of the year lists.
