Introducing…Deerhoof

From their humble beginnings as an obscure San Francisco noise act, they’ve become one of indie music’s most influential bands with their ecstatic and unruly take on pop.

Deerhoof have announced details of their brand new album, ‘Actually, You Can’. Set to arrive on 22nd October, the news comes alongside a new single ‘Department of Corrections’.

Introducing…Pom Poko

Pure Norwegian Punky Sweetness. A punk attitude combined with a nerdy knowledge of pop history, makes for an explosive package often compared to Le Tigre, Deerhoof and Duchess Says. Sweet sing-song vocals are mixed with intense grooves, bouncy guitars and crazy riffs, and make Pom Poko a feat to behold live. Reduce the testosterone, increase the sugar rush, and get ready for this K-PUNK explosion.

Following last year’s debut ‘Birthday’, Norway’s Pom Poko have confirmed that their second album ‘Cheater’ is set to arrive on 6th November via Bella Union! Listen their brand new single ‘Andrew.’

Favourite Gig: Preoccupations

Preoccupations (formerly Viet Cong), to the rescue of post-punk. Disturbing and profound both for their forms and for their lyrics, Preoccupations await you in Barcelona today at La [2] of Apolo. They are a project that you should listen to almost by obligation. For fans of Savages, Clinic, This Heat, Liars, Deerhoof, Sebadoh, Echo & The Bunnymen or Pavement. We go back even further to see the flavors of bands from the 80s like Joy Division, The Church, or The Fall. They pick up their sober and dark style and place it today.
