Two years ago the Leeds band Eagulls released their excellent self-titled debut album, a jaggedly noisy post-punk LP with varying degrees of shoegaze euphoria creeping in from the edges. Now they’re back with a forthcoming 2nd LP called Ullages. Eagulls are morphing into something cleaner and more approachable. The echo-chamber aggression has given way to a sparkling sonic environment situated somewhere between The Cure, The Smiths, The Shins, and Stone Roses. It’s a lovely development, and you can check it out below.
