The muses of La Musa: Eydís Evensen

Eydís Evensen is a classically-trained pianist and post-classical composer from the Icelandic North. Her music reflects on the nature she grew up in and her years of travel abroad.

The musician’s 2021 debut album ‘Bylur’ enjoyed magnificent word of mouth success, her delicate touch adding a curious intensity to the piano-focussed songwriting. A bold voice within modern classical developments, her subsequent 2022 EP ‘Frost’ further illuminated the Icelandic artist’s work.

The muses of La Musa: Björk

Björk often describes her music using visual cues. The Icelandic musician’s last album looked up to the heavens, filled with birdsong and airy flutes. Her new album, “Fossora,” peers deep down into the soil. The follow-up to 2017’s Utopia has the theme “mushroom life.”  She described the new project as “a pacifist, idealistic album with flutes and synths and birds.”

JFDR (aka Jófríður Ákadóttir) is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born in 1994, from Reykjavík, Iceland. She is known for her solo project JFDR as well as her work with Samaris, Pascal Pinon and Gangly and works closely with producer and multi-instrumentalist Shahzad Ismaily.
