The muses of La Musa: Ider
The Britons Megan Markwick and Lily Somerville met at university and immediately became inseparable friends as they realised their voices sounded great together. It was later that, after university, they went to live together in north London and formed “Ider”, a literary electronics project: it’s the origin of the songs they compose together, sharing their experiences, with elements of contemporary R & B and melancholic pop. First they caught the attention of Shura, who produced one of the songs of their debut EP in 2017, “Gut me like an animal” and, later, the attention of several BBC DJs, which made them something of a minor sensation, even before they made it big on the scene.
