Hit of the week: Jonathan Bree ‘Kiss my lips’

On a red hot day for Valentine’s releases, what better way to round things off than with a new tune from the titanic pairing of Tāmaki Makaurau’s Jonathan Bree and Princess Chelsea? The third single from Bree’s forthcoming album After the Curtains Close, Kiss My Lips‘ offers listeners a chocolate box of dreamy melodies, finger-snapping rhythms and lustful wordplay to tuck into, with Princess Chelsea taking centre stage in a lavish black and white stage production for the song’s celebratory accompanying clip, directed by the masked artist himself.

Music by Bergman: Jonathan Bree

Auckland pop sophisticate Jonathan Bree (of the Brunettes) has followed the success of recent video ‘You’re So Cool‘ with a clip for latest single ‘Say You Love Me Too’ featuring guest vocalist Clara Viñals. The video shows Bree’s masked group looking like store mannequins grooving in a studio, a style they brought to the stage at this year’s The Others Way festival. The catchy single recalls classic sixties French pop or even the motorik flourishes of Stereolab, whetting our appetite for Bree’s forthcoming album Sleepwalking which is set to drop in March.
