Before they were widely tipped as one of London’s most exciting new post-punk bands, Bar Italia spent years patiently grafting. The trio, consisting of Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi and Sam Fenton, put out multiple releases via Dean Blunt’s avant-garde World Music label, including their debut LP ‘Quarrel’ and follow-up EP ‘Angelica Pilled’.
Despite this reticence, the London trio now seem to have their sights set on making their reintroduction with ‘Tracey Denim’. Recorded and produced by the band themselves with mixing from Marta Salogni (Björk, Black Midi, M.I.A.), their third album should be enough to shift to one side those hasty (albeit somewhat justified) comparisons to The Cure and Joy Division.

M.I.A.’s latest — and possibly last — album is here. The singer dropped AIM, her fifth studio effort, this month. Among the tracks on the album are the previously released “Go Off” featuring Skrillex, “Freedun” with Zayn Malik, and “Bird Song,” her collaboration with Diplo, the ex-producer and ex-boyfriend with whom she shares along and tangled history. In the lead-up to AIM’s release, M.I.A. has suggested that the album will be the final one she makes, so, even though the Diplo drama just goes to show that M.I.A. has never been wedded to her word, you’d still best enjoy M.I.A.’s full-album efforts while you definitely can.

Un disc del que ja hem visionat tres clips potents i hipersònics. La poc ortodoxa artista que darrerament ha estat embolicada en diverses polèmiques ha trigat en treure aquest nou àlbum, però pel que hem sentit l’espera paga la pena.
