Hit of the week: Mumford & Sons “Blind Leading The Blind”

Mumford & Sons have finally shared a song they’ve been working on for years. The band debuted “Blind Leading The Blind”, a song inspired by the works of American author John Steinbeck.

The song was originally intended to be included on the band’s most recent album Delta, but it didn’t feel complete in time for the release. They kept it in their back pocket where they forgot about it, until last month when they were awarded the prestigious John Steinbeck Award. Frontman Marcus Mumford is a self-proclaimed studier of the great author and decided it was the sign they needed to complete the song.

Favourite Gig: Mumford & Sons

Mumford & Sons are back in Barcelona six years after their last visit. Since then their popularity has only grown, so they’re out to fill up the Palau Sant Jordi this time around. The band got their start in West London in 2007 by multi-instrumentalists Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall and Ted Dwane playing what was then called the new wave of English folk. In 2009 they released their first album, ‘Sigh no More’, which helped them make a name for themselves on the world pop scene. They’re back with several Grammys on their shelves to present their fourth album, ‘Delta’ (2018).
