Music by Bergman: School of X

The solo project of Rasmus Littauer, School of X is a serious contender for becoming The Next Big Thing. His music is somewhere between Portugal the Man and MGMT, filled with shimmering pop sensibilities and glittering production. He’s not only got that cool international indie je ne sais quoi, but also the capacity to write a hook that’ll instantly get stuck in your head.

Divus Julius presents: PWNT

PWNT, the LA-based dream-pop project of Kosta Galanopoulos, has shared his new single, “Days in the Summer”, which will serve as the title track for his upcoming debut album, out June 25, 2021, via Acrophase Records.

Borrowing his moniker from the Miles Davis quote, “play what’s not there”, PWNT fuses together the worlds of 60s psychedelia, 90s Britpop, and the sounds of 2010-era acts such as Passion Pit and MGMT on his latest single.

Hit of the week: Alien Tango ’Heavenly’

Packed full of raw passion and talent, the whimsical bedroom pop sweetheart Alberto Garcia (AKA Alien Tango) is one to watch out for in 2020. Raised in Murica, Spain and currently based in London, Alien Tango brings you some of the grooviest and tantalising DIY tunes.

Influenced by the likes of Foxygen, MGMT, Hinds, Alien Tango is just about one of the wildest and most mischievous oddballs in the DIY music scene. His latest single ’Heavenly’ is pure bliss.

Hit of the week: MGMT “In The Afternoon”

MGMT premiered a new song entitled “In The Afternoon” and shared a video for the tune. “In The Afternoon” is the a-side of a limited edition 12″ single due in March that marks the band’s first independent release.

Both “In The Afternoon” and b-side “As You Move Through The World” were produced by MGMT. The band tapped Dave Fridmann to mix the tracks. “In The Afternoon” follows the 2018 release of the full-length studio album Little Dark Age.
