Best Covers: Miles Kane “A Girl Like You”
Miles Kane best known as a solo artist and the co-frontman of The Last Shadow Puppets covered the classic Edwyn Collins track “A Girl Like You.”
Hit of The Week: Miles Kane ‘Don’t Let It Get You Down’
Miles Kane has returned with his soulful new single, ‘Don’t Let It Get You Down’.
The feelgood new track is brushed in the same vintage mahogany that Kane has specialised in throughout his solo career. Judging by the first release, he’s not attempting to reinvent himself with his fourth studio album. Nor is Kane isn’t letting current trends sway him from his old-school brand of shimmering 1970s pop.

Hit of the week: Miles Kane ‘Coup de Grace’
The Last Shadow Puppets co-frontman Miles Kane is back with a new solo album, his first in five years. Coup De Grace follows 2013’s Don’t Forget Who You Are and arrives on June 8th via Virgin EMI.
As a preview to the release, Kane has shared the lead single, “Loaded”. Recorded in Los Angeles and produced by John Congelton (St. Vincent), the track was co-written with Lana Del Rey and Jamie T. In a press release, Kane describes the hooky, guitar-laden tune as “upbeat and kind of punky.” His last single is ‘Coup de Gras’.

Best Covers: The Last Shadow Puppets “This is Your Life”
The Last Shadow Puppets issued a new EP last week called The Dream Synopsis. The six-track effort features two reworked tracks off their Everything You’ve Come to Expect album as well as four studio versions of cover songs they’ve performed during their 2016 tour.
In support of the project, Alex Turner and Miles Kane have now shared the music video for their rendition of the 1980 Glaxo Babies cut “This is Your Life”. Directed by Focus Creeps, it’s an entertaining clip in which the well-dressed pair, backed by a full band, performs in front of a shimmering and prism-like foil backdrop. At one point Turner can be seen crawling across a catwalk while Kane manically mans the mic.
