Portugal. The Man are clearly big fans of Oasis. The “Lords of Portland” have covered the brothers Gallagher in past live performances, and they even make a sly reference the ’90s hit “Wonderwall” in the chorus of their song “Rich Friends.”
Now, Portugal. The Man have shared a highly polished video of themselves performing “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” live off the floor.
This American band originally from Alaska and led by John Gourley lands in Barcelona to present their eighth album, ‘Woodstuck’, their most commercial effort to date, which includes collaborations with Danger Mouse and Mike D from the Beastie Boys. Tonight at Sala Apolo.

Avui celebrem el bicentanari del programa indie més cool del planeta Terra. Dos-cents programes repassant l’actualitat musical més independent arreu del món. Dues-centes retransmissions en directe amb les millors cançons indies del moment. Dos-cents programes conduïts per Divus Julius Bonasera amb la col·laboració del mestre Bergman i La Musa.
Avui ho celebrarem amb més música i estrenarem el més nou de Manic Street Preachers i Belle and Sebastian. Analitzarem el nou disc de Portugal. The Man i us presentarem a nous artistes com Eera,QTY,Paris Youth Foundation o Shame.

Aquest dilluns repassarem el nou disc d’una de les nostres bandes favorites: Everything Everything. Following the horrific attacks in London the Oasis stadium shaker “Don’t Look Back in Anger” returned to relevance as those affected by the tragedies used the song as a rallying call for unity and positivity. Both Noel and Liam Gallagher responded appropriately, with Noel donating royalties from the song to various organizations and Liam adding the tune to his solo repertoire.
Portugal. The Man also adopted the tune into their live rotation stateside, playing it at a number of recent gigs including a special collaboration with Cage the Elephant’s Matt Shultz at Bonnaroo. The band recently sat for an acoustic session and recorded the heartfelt cover in a stripped down setting.
