Best Covers: Josh Homme ‘Silent Night’

Josh Homme might be best known for his work with Queens of the Stone Age, but the fiery rocker also has a soft side, especially when it comes to the holidays.

Recorded during QOTSA’s Australian tour in 2017, the surprise release includes Homme’s performance of “Silent Night” with help from Australian singer-songwriter C.W. Stoneking, as well as his reading of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” featuring his wife Brody Dalle of The Distillers, and their children.

Mini Mansions unveil their brand new single “Works Every Time” and announce their new Works Every Time EP, due for release September28. Per fi, Eagles of Death Metal

Després de cancel·lar la seva visita prevista al desembre per culpa dels nefastos atemptats terroristes a Paris, els californians Eagles of Death Metal, banda fundada per Josh Homme (frontman de Queens of the Stone Age) i Jesse Hughes, els únics membres permanents de la banda, tornen a Barcelona per defensar el seu últim disc, ‘Zipper down ‘(2015).

El grup va néixer el 1998 a Palm Desert, Califòrnia, quan aquests dos grans amics es van preguntar com sonaria una barreja entre The Eagles i una banda de death metal. El resultat d’aquest experiment va ser presentat en 2004 sota el títol ‘Peace love death metal’, seguit de ‘Death by sexy’ (2006) i ‘Heart on’ (2008).

Primavera Sound 2014: el cartell

Avui s’ha desvetllat el gran misteri del Primavera Sound. A les 20.30h diversos cinemes de l’estat han projectat el passi del curt de més de vint minuts Line-Up dirigit a Detroit per Àlex Julià. El film també s’ha pogut veure online i, poc a poc, han anat apareixent els noms dels artistes que els dies 29, 30 i 31 de Maig seran al Parc del Fòrum de Barcelona. Els primers noms en aparèixer han estat els següents: Godspeed, Chvrches, Television, Haim, Majical Cloudz, Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Darkside, Slowdive, Metronomy, Kendrick Lamar, The National o Caetano Veloso. També s’han confirmat altres noms com els de !!!, Black Lips, Blood Orange, Chromeo, Cloud Nothings, Cut Copy, Disclosure, Foals, Glasser, Jagwar Ma, John Grant, Real Estate, Sky Ferreira, Slint, Spoon, St Vincent, Standstill, Dum Dum Girls, Midlake, Moderat, Mogwai, Refree, Spoon, Temples, Warpaint o The War on Drugs: Moltes d’aquestes bandes són les que sonen habitualment a Ville à Dômat.
