Divus Julius presents: bdrmm

bdrmm are a four-piece band based in Hull and Leeds. Musically, there are nods to The Cure, Deerhunter and DIIV, while the band references RIDE and Radiohead. There are also echoes of krautrock and post-punk, from The Chameleons to Protomartyr, plus the proto-shoegaze of the Pale Saints.

Three years on since their 2020 debut LP ‘Bedroom’, Hull shoegazers bdrmm have announced that their new album ‘I Don’t Know’ will be out on 30th June from their new label home of Mogwai’s Rock Action.

Favourite Gig: Ride

The British band Ride, formed in the late 80s by Andy Bell and Mark Gardener, is considered a pioneer of the ‘shoegaze’ sound. Their first stage lasted only until 1996, but they had time to publish such emblematic albums as their debut, ‘Nowhere’ (1990) and their continuation ‘Going blank again’ (1992). After being one of the most anticipated returns of the year when they met again in 2014, in their second stage they have already published a couple of albums, ‘Weather diaries’ (2017) and the most recent ‘This is not a safe place’ ( 2019), which they will review on this return to the city hall. Tonight in concert at Sala Apolo.

Ville à Dômat: Music Is The Answer

Pardals: Stay
