Sofi Tukker are Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern. The duo’s jungle pop drawing on nineties’ house earned them a Grammy Award nomination before releasing their debut album.
The pair met in Providence, Rhode Island, while attending university. Soon after, they released the EP ‘Soft Animals‘ (2016), an insatiable collection of dance songs featuring the amazing ‘Drinkee‘, which racked up over 40 million streams on Spotify. It was also one of the songs picked for the Apple Watch ads. Their song ‘Best Friend‘was also chosen by the tech giant to soundtrack the iPhone X ad.
Their latest single ‘Energia‘ (2017) is a combination of disco beats and bossa nova that makes use of unusual instruments like the Bolivian charango.
