Supergrass leader Gaz Coombes has a new solo album on the way called Turn The Car Around, which is out in January It’s the follow-up to 2018’s World’s Strongest Man, and he announced it in September with “Don’t Say It’s Over.” Coombes is back with another single, “Long Live The Strange,” which in a press release he says was inspired by going to see the English singer-songwriter Cavetown with his daughter in 2020.
Based around a swirling, art-rock groove, the elegantly constructed song sees Coombes recalling the heady first night he met his future wife. As a taster of the masterfully written and recorded songs contained within ‘Turn The Car Around’, it is a perfect reminder of exactly why Coombes remains one of the country’s most enduring and loved songwriters who continues to hone and develop this craft.
Supergrass, the Britpop four-piece known for their 1995 album I Should Coco and 1999 self-titled record, have announced that they’re getting back together for an official reunion tour and new career-spanning box set.

With a flurry of headline shows planned Gaz Coombes is ready to move ahead, sharing new song ‘Walk The Walk’. With a slight twinge of Americana filtered through his deeply British songwriting landscape, it’s a stirring return, a refreshing, creative statement.
A young Birmingham four piece, consisting of singer and guitarist Dom Ganderton, lead guitarist Ryan Malcolm, bassist Emily Baker and drummer Carl Griffin, Superfood are proper Britpop revivalists whose sound is an undeniably resplendent sonic melange of all the best bits of Blur and Supergrass. They released their first album three years ago and now they’ve just released a brand new single “Double Dutch”. The track is the first to be taken from the band’s as-yet-unnanounced follow-up to 2014 debut LP ‘Don’t Say That’, and is an instantly addictive, dreamy cut, with a heavy use of sampling.
