Introducing…Surf Curse

Surf Curse is the indie rock recording project of Los Angeles based songwriters Nick Rattigan and Jacob Rubeck.  Their new record, Heaven Surrounds You, is a coming of age epic, inspired by the many cult films they’ve cherished throughout their young adulthood that are referenced across the album’s tracklist.

Surf Curse’s songwriting and instrumental orchestration has matured on their third full length LP, adding layers of polish to their traditionally rough and visceral sound. Rattigan and Rubeck worked with veteran indie producer Jarvis Taveniere, carefully crafting their most lush and vulnerable record to date, during the fall of 2018. Heaven Surrounds You, satisfies the energy and passion that old fans would expect from a Surf Curse record, but expands the band’s songwriting to envelope new audiences into their cinematic sound. The album is due in September.  Surf Curse dropped new track ‘Hour of the Wolf.’

Mayday Mambo 2017

Segona edició del Mayday Mambo, festival de tres dies que torna aquest any repartit en tres sales de la ciutat per portar-nos els seus sons salvatges plens de rock àcid. La vibracions comencen el divendres 26 de maig a la Sala Upload, amb els directes de Surf Curse, duo de Nevada que és tota una sensació del garatge surf al Estats Units; Froth, californiana banda de noise power pop; Camera, referents actuals del krautrock fet a Berlín i els danesos Yung, portaveus del garatge europeu del moment. La segona jornada, dissabte, s’instal·la a la [2] d’Apolo, amb els concerts dels gallecs mestres del freakbeat Fogbound i Puma Pumku, una declaració dream pop decididament experimental; la psicodèlia contemporània dels suecs Dungen i Ouzo Bazooka, representants de l’escena rock israelita, que ensenyaran una combinació de sons mediterranis i garatge sixtie bastant peculiar. El Mayday Mambo 2017 es tanca el diumenge al Almo2bar amb el rock oníric dels americans Morgan Delt i la jove banda australiana The Baudelaires, amb la seva lisèrgia atmosfèrica fosca i magnètica.
