Hit of the week: The 1975 “Love It If We Made It”
The 1975 have released some months ago a new single called “Love It If We Made It.” The lyrics, which were teased in a packet sent out to fans and the press, mention the late emo-rapper Lil Peep, quote President Trump, and conclude that “modernity has failed us/and I’d love it if we made it.” This treatise is all set to a heavy drum beat, with a much bigger scope than the deliberately tinny first single “Give Yourself a Try,” as Matty Healy howls his worldview. The song has been chosen as the best of the year according to Pitchfork.
Music by Bergman: Pale Waves
Best friends Heather Baron-Gracie and Ciara Doran formed Pale Waves three years ago whilst studying in Manchester. After building up a following there, the band spent some of 2017 touring the States under their own name and also with The 1975, who they supported at their mammoth Madison Square Gardens gig in New York.
Pale Waves are continuing to storm through 2017 with their infectious indie-pop. Penning glossy pop with a goth heart, Pale Waves are building on the success.
Arriben X Ambassadors
The Neigbourhood, Bastille o The 1975.
