The muses of La Musa: Deap Vally

Deap Vally are a rock duo formed in Los Angeles, California, USA in 2011. The group consists of Lindsey Troy (guitar, vocals) and Julie Edwards (drums). In the heart of Silver Lake, California, Edwards met Troy at a needlework class. They bonded over their love of music, specifically the blues and hence, Deap Vally debuted in 2011 with a primal mix of hard rock and greasy blues riffs, like The White Stripes colliding with the The Black Keys.

After releasing their Digital Dream EP in February, Deap Vally are back with their new album MARRIAGE.

4Ever Songs: The Black Keys “Lonely Boy”

“Lonely Boy,” was the hip-shaking first single from the Ohio blues-rock duo’s The Black Keys supcoming seventh studio album El Camino. The lo-fi clip shows nothing except for a solitary man dancing enthusiastically outside a motel room.

Derrick T. Tuggle, a 48-year-old actor, musician and part-time security guard, first danced his way into our hearts back in October, when the video was released. The musicians cast him to stand outside a motel room and shake those hips while acting out certain lyrics. Tuggle’s dance moves became widely popular, and the video currently has nowadays more than 132 million views on YouTube.

Divus Julius presents: The Blue Stones

The Blue Stones’ Tarek Jafar and Justin Tessier are quickly carving out a name for themselves in the blues rock, alt garage world–making stages quake.

The duo pride themselves on delivering a sonic wall of sound, drawing influence from The Black Keys, Acid Jazz and even Jay-Z. Their impressive last year’s album, Black Holes, is poised to arm-wrestle your eardrums into sweet submission.

The Canadian duo  have just released ‘Shakin’ Off The Rust’ – a song that very much serves as a mission statement for their renewed sense of confidence and newfound identity.

The muses of La Musa: Bedouine

The smooth, hypnotic voice of the Syrian singer and composer Bedouine, whose real name is Azniv Korkejian, could be compared with that of Karen Dalton, Minnie Riperton or Laura Marling. The leisurely echoes of Bohemian folk from the 60s, served up as if they were infusions of bossa nova, are capable of fully attracting the listener. Her debut album, which bears her name, was produced by Gus Seyffert (Beck, Norah Jones, The Black Keys). In Barcelona she will present her second album, Bird Songs of a Killjoy on Saturday 21st of September at 9PM at Pça Joan Coromines.

Atzucac: Ray LaMontagne “Hey, No Pressure”
