The muses of La Musa: GRAE

Toronto artist GRAE may be inspired by 80’s new wave, but the singer-songwriter is taking a fresh approach to pop, blending the light-hearted inclinations of new wave with indie-led guitar and dreamy bedroom pop vocals. This sound has culminated in the sparkling debut album ‘Whiplash’. Out now, ‘Whiplash’ is GRAE’s nostalgic contemplation of the multitudes of love, mirrored by a polished, yet composite sound.

Introducing…His His

His His is the project of Toronto-based artist Aidan Belo. Combining delicate guitar lines with simple yet thoughtful vocals, Belo created this project as an outlet after relocating to his family’s hobby farm outside of the city, in an attempt to evoke something rural and honest.

He often uses just a guitar, a voice and the occasional piano or shaker. It leaves you, as a singer-songwriter, exposed. That is exactly what draws a listener in though. That vulnerability can translate into heart slaying melodies and sad songs to curl up to. ‘Garden Songs’, his debut record, brings plenty of that mood to your speakers. His His is the definition of a hidden gem.
