South coast heroes The Magic Gang have released their debut album. The band are a potent live force, while a flurry of singles have perfectly outlined their art-rock manifesto.

The Magic Gang are a Brighton four-piece apparently weaned on Norman Blake’s aforementioned group, Weezer, The Beach Boys, The Beatles and the recently departed London duo Ultimate Painting. The best thing about their self-titled debut might be their four-part harmonies: a raggle-taggle chorus full of personality.

Best Covers: Beach House “Undone — The Sweater Song”

Beach House’s latest record, Thank Your Lucky Stars, has been out for a few months now. The dream-pop duo took the stage for a show in Luxembourg . During the set, Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally covered Weezer’s 1994 classic “Undone — The Sweater Song.” (Perhaps they felt inspired by the decidedly ’90s direction of the band’s new single, “Do You Wanna Get High?”) The original song appears on 1994’s Weezer.  Beach House will be playing next friday at 2AM at Primavera Sound.
